Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini have reported positive progress in their discussions about the ongoing Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue. They have confirmed that officials from both states will maintain regular meetings to seek a resolution.

Addressing a press conference, CM Mann underlined the congenial atmosphere of the talks, stating, "Haryana is a brother, not an enemy." He emphasized the urgency in resolving the long-standing issue while safeguarding both states' rights.

The meeting, held in Chandigarh, aligned with the Supreme Court's directive to resolve the dispute through dialogue. It included significant participation from state ministers and senior officials. The canal, planned to equally distribute Ravi and Beas river waters, remains essential for both regions.
