The historic Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar witnessed a momentous occasion as 15,555 women united to set a world record with their performance of Assamese Dihanam. The event, organized by the Ratnagarbha Tejaswini Foundation, saw women performing for a continuous 42 minutes, capturing the spiritual and cultural essence of Assam.
Concluding with official recognition from the World Book of Records, the gathering turned the field into a vibrant display of faith. Participants, dressed in traditional attire, created a resonating atmosphere of empowerment and pride as their voices united in celebration of Assamese culture.
Sindhuja VB, World Wide Book of Records coordinator, praised the Assamese women for this remarkable feat. "I am thrilled to witness this cultural milestone. Their 42-minute performance is now recorded in the World Wide Book of Records," Sindhuja stated to ANI.
Meanwhile, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya marked another notable event by attending the Janajati Sammelan and Vivekananda Kendra Institute's 30th foundation day. Emphasizing the theme 'Development through Culture,' the Governor highlighted the importance of dialogue on cultural and educational advancements for tribal communities, stressing inclusive progress.
