In a significant initiative to combat discrimination and ensure safety, three public toilets dedicated to transgender individuals have been inaugurated in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district. This move aims to address social neglect faced by the community by offering a safe space and promoting dignity.
Positioned at the Ramgarh district collectorate park, Sadar hospital, and the bus stand, the toilets were officially opened on Friday. Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner Faiz Aq Ahmed Mumtaz emphasized the administration's commitment to erasing barriers and improving public convenience for transgender individuals.
This development aligns with broader efforts to provide equal opportunities and social security. As part of ongoing advocacy, the transgender community previously organized a march in Ranchi to highlight the need for inclusive public services, including separate toilets.
