Silchar is poised for a significant transformation with the Assam Cabinet's recent approval of the city's first five-star hotel. Endorsed on Saturday, the ambitious project will see an investment of approximately Rs 103 crore and will be spearheaded by Polo Hotels Group.
The initiative is a landmark step aimed at enhancing the tourism and business environment in the Barak Valley region. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the strategic importance of the development, emphasizing its potential to elevate Silchar's status in the business and tourism sectors through high-value engagements and events.
Set to feature 100 luxurious rooms, state-of-the-art conference facilities, and premium amenities, this project is expected to draw more corporate and tourist activity to the region. With Polo Hotels Group expanding across Eastern India, this development reflects broader trends in emerging city tourism infrastructure in India.
