The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) announced a temporary waiver of road restoration charges for three months to expedite piped natural gas (PNG) connections, according to a circular issued Friday. This decision aims to enhance the speed of PNG installations by Indraprastha Gas Limited, facilitating uninterrupted connections for consumers.
The waiver intends to eliminate procedural delays in pipeline execution, ensuring prompt service to households and commerce. NDMC has mandated its departments to authorize road work permits within 24 hours of receiving complete applications, allowing pipeline operations to commence swiftly.
Indraprastha Gas Limited is required to prioritize the pipeline work by deploying sufficient manpower and addressing excavated areas efficiently. Additionally, NDMC's road divisions are instructed to restore disrupted road sections within specified deadlines to minimize impact on traffic and pedestrians, ensuring compliance with the new directives.
