A significant fire tore through a garbage dumping yard in the Mandholi drains area on Thursday, inciting panic among local residents while devastating composting machinery valued at lakhs of rupees. Witnesses noticed the flames and dense smoke, prompting them to alert the fire brigade immediately.
Firefighters arrived swiftly at the scene, working diligently to control the blaze. Eyewitnesses reported strong winds exacerbating the fire's spread, reaching machinery and escalating the crisis. Among the affected equipment, three machines used for converting waste into manure were damaged, with two rendered completely inoperable. The incident is anticipated to result in substantial financial losses, and the thick smoke led to significant discomfort for nearby locals.
