Amid concerns over the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the Indian government has reassured citizens there is no need for panic buying of petrol, diesel, or LPG. Official statements affirm that proactive measures are in place to ensure energy availability nationwide.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated it is prioritizing domestic LPG and PNG supplies, particularly for households and essential services. Meanwhile, efforts to ramp up refinery outputs and manage market demand include extending LPG refill intervals and leveraging alternative fuels like kerosene.

To counter any attempts at market manipulation, authorities have intensified enforcement with over 3,700 anti-hoarding raids. Despite geopolitical pressures, the government assures that LPG stocks remain healthy, and all refineries are fully operational, bolstering energy security.
