A fire broke out at Viva Energy's Geelong refinery in southern Australia, potentially disrupting petrol production more than diesel and jet fuel, authorities reported on Thursday.
Energy Minister Chris Bowen assured the public that diesel and jet fuel production remains unaffected for now, but warned that petrol output could face extended challenges.
Firefighting teams are actively working to control the blaze, which was initially reported at approximately 11 p.m. (1300 GMT) on Wednesday.
