Union Minister Giriraj Singh has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of attempting to influence the election process through violence, a strategy he believes did not succeed. Speaking on Thursday, Singh criticized TMC’s alleged intimidation tactics in certain areas.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Piyush Goyal voiced confidence in the BJP's performance in the forthcoming Assembly election results, slated for May 4. He downplayed exit polls, putting BJP’s confidence in India’s electorate instead. Asserting that the BJP may form a government in several states, Goyal believes this reflects the people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievements over the past twelve years.
Exit polls suggest BJP-led NDA is set to win in Assam and potentially in West Bengal, marking its first government there. Reports also predict a return for the DMK alliance in Tamil Nadu, though actor-politician Vijay’s TVK may perform strongly in its debut. Projections highlight a competitive landscape in states like West Bengal, where poll numbers vary significantly.
