Stalin Demands Rollback on LPG Price Hike

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin urges the Centre to reverse the recent hike in commercial LPG cylinder prices, citing hardship for the public and accusing the government of leveraging global conflicts as excuses for price increases.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has strongly urged the central government to reverse the recent surge in commercial LPG cylinder prices, which saw an unprecedented increase of Rs 993 for a 19-kg cylinder.

This marks the third consecutive monthly hike, attributed to escalating global energy costs tied to the West Asia conflict. Stalin criticized the BJP-led union government, alleging that the price elevation follows an election pattern, with no benefits being extended to the public when global crude oil prices dropped.

He emphasized the necessity to safeguard citizens' livelihoods and demanded the government prioritize public welfare by addressing and mitigating their sufferings promptly.
