Australia Reaffirms Commitment to India's Territorial Integrity Amid Khalistan Concerns

Green assured collaboration with Indian authorities and maintained that peaceful protests are allowed in Australia, but criminal activities are not. Recent Indian deportations are isolated, among millions of visitors annually.
In a candid discussion with ANI, Philip Green, High Commissioner of Australia to India, reiterated his nation's unwavering respect for India's territorial integrity addressing the ongoing tensions surrounding Khalistani activities in Australia.
Green highlighted the collaborative efforts between Australian institutions, including multicultural, intelligence, police, and foreign policy bodies, to address India's concerns, emphasizing that Australia does not support any irredentist movements. While underscoring the importance of peaceful protest, Green drew a clear line against criminal acts, maintaining that lawful demonstrations are part of democratic rights.
The High Commissioner put recent deportation of Indians under the spotlight, describing them as isolated incidents rather than the norm. He noted that Australia welcomes a large influx of Indian tourists and students, exceeding half a million annually. The recent deportations involved mostly Punjabi nationals, which led to an official reception at Delhi airport by the Punjab Government. (ANI)
