In a bold assertion, KA Sengottaiyan, Chief Coordinator of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), projected a significant triumph in the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, claiming the party will secure at least 180 of 234 seats.
Addressing a media briefing in Gobichettipalayam, Sengottaiyan offered a pointed critique of Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagenthran, dubbing the 2026 election as his last electoral endeavor. While questioned about aligning with the AIADMK post-poll, Sengottaiyan maintained confidence, stating, "There is no scenario without a majority. The victory will be ours," as he recounted public interactions that bolstered his optimism.
With elections having occurred on April 23, the Vijay-led TVK faced off against both the ruling DMK and the Opposition NDA camps, which included the AIADMK and BJP. However, varied exit polls offered mixed projections: People Pulse predicted no more than six seats for TVK, while Axis My India suggested a potential of up to 120 seats, hinting at a potentially historic upset. The final outcome awaits the May 4 vote count.
