In a tragic turn of events, four workers were fatally buried under coal slurry at the Moonidih coal washery in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Saturday. This incident occurred as workers were loading the slurry into trucks, and a sizable mass collapsed, trapping several individuals underneath, according to police sources.
The unfortunate victims have been identified as Manik Bauri, Dinesh Bauri, Deepak Bauri, and Hemlal Gope. Rescue teams managed to retrieve their bodies from the debris. In response to the incident, family members along with local villagers staged a protest by placing the bodies at the washery's gate, demanding adequate compensation, employment for the dependents, and accountability for the mishap.
Authorities, including police and administrative officials, are actively engaging with the protesters to resolve the situation. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident and facilitate appropriate measures to prevent future occurrences.
