A Delhi court has raised concerns over the lackluster police investigation into the disappearance of two stray dogs from Indira Gandhi International Airport. The case centers on the alleged removal of dogs from Terminal-3. CCTV footage dated around 7:38 pm captures a person, dressed in estate services uniform, enticing a dog into a vehicle and subsequently exiting the airport with it. The individuals implicated are connected to a private contractor. However, police remain in the dark about the dogs' exact location.

Despite the incident occurring over 1.5 months ago, the police have yet to ascertain the dogs' status or whereabouts. The complainants, who have persistently sought answers, are not satisfied with the investigation, which the court deemed unserious. Criticism was directed at the inquiry officers who opted to question complainants over airport authorities and involved contractors, demanding verification of the complainants' roles as regular feeders.

The court also highlighted non-compliance with prior instructions to link incidents at Terminal-3 and Terminal-1. The police separately treated these despite potential connections involving the same contractor. The court stressed that these incidents likely required authorization from airport management, necessitating a coordinated investigation. Consequently, the court ordered the Joint Commissioner of Police (Transport Range) to conduct a fresh probe into both incidents and report back by May 11, 2026.
