In a stark warning about the evolving dynamics of modern warfare, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh referred to Israel's 'Op Grim Beepers' to underscore the notion that 'everything can be weaponised'. Speaking at the North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, Singh pointed to recent events globally, particularly the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as evidence of how swiftly and unpredictably the nature of war can shift.

Singh illustrated his point by highlighting the adaptability of war tactics over just a few years, noting that conflicts now integrate new technologies like drones and sensors as central components, deviating from traditional military assets. He cited incidents where everyday civilian technology, such as pagers, have transformed into lethal tools, exemplified by Lebanon and Syria's pager blasts

The Israeli operation, 'Operation Grim Beepers', was initially shrouded in mystery but later confirmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
