District Collector Rahul Kumar Meena has issued directives to ensure normal fuel availability, with strict guidelines to prevent stock hoarding.
Fuel scarcity in Latur has caused concern among local residents, as long queues formed at various petrol pumps. The scarcity is reportedly due to a halt in fuel supply from wholesalers, creating an artificial shortage, officials and traders indicated.
District Collector Rahul Kumar Meena took proactive steps, issuing guidelines to petrol pump operators urging them not to withhold stock if available. This decision came after a virtual review meeting with pump owners and their representatives to address the situation.
As part of the new directives, operators must continue sales if stock is available, avoid restricting sales unnecessarily, and maintain clear price displays. Violations will be met with stringent actions under several regulatory acts, ensuring accountability and transparency in fuel distribution.
