Star Health Sets Ambitious GWP Targets: Aiming for Rs 30,000 Crore by FY28
Star Health and Allied Insurance Company aims to boost its Gross Written Premium to Rs 24,000 crore this fiscal and Rs 30,000 crore by FY28. To achieve this, it plans to launch new insurance products targeting smaller towns and improve customer experience and partnerships.
Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd is targeting a significant increase in its Gross Written Premium (GWP) to Rs 24,000 crore in the current fiscal, as stated by Managing Director and CEO Anand Roy. This is an increase from the Rs 20,400 crore achieved in FY26.
The company is planning to introduce two new affordable health insurance plans aimed at tier 2 and 3 cities. Mr. Roy emphasized the company's commitment to expanding its presence in smaller towns and villages to meet the target of Rs 30,000 crore by FY28.
Star Health has shown robust performance in regions such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with claims settled worth Rs 1,254 crore in FY26. This represents a 24% increase from the previous year, and regional GWP has also increased. The firm aims to increase its regional contribution to 12-15% over the next few years.
