The Central GST Audit Commissionerate announced a significant rise in audit detections in Kerala, reaching over Rs 1,128 crore in the fiscal year 2025-26. The revelation was made during the inaugural Auditor's Day, held to review and discuss critical GST audit findings.
Commissioner T Tiju, who inaugurated the event, highlighted the evolving nature of audits in the GST era, stressing the increasing reliance on data and modern technologies. He encouraged auditors to continuously upgrade their skills while maintaining a taxpayer-friendly approach.
The event included presentations on nationally significant audit detections and discussions on best practices in GST audits. Commendations were given to high-performing audit teams, with senior GST officials from both Central and State departments in attendance. An in-house magazine, 'Pratidhwani,' was also launched.
