On Monday, Milma's Ernakulam unit declared an additional Rs 2 per litre incentive for milk procured through affiliated cooperative societies during May, aiming to support local dairy farmers.

The scheme will benefit farmers and primary societies in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kottayam, and Idukki districts between May 11 and May 31, officials report.

This decision, made by Union Chairman C N Valsalan Pillai, might impact over 1,000 primary dairy societies. Concurrently, Milma is contemplating a price hike for milk products due to farmer demands.
