Andhra Pradesh Accelerates Power Infrastructure Upgrades

K Vijayanand, the Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has directed energy officials to expedite 68 key transmission projects. These projects aim to enhance the state's power infrastructure with a budget of Rs 5,000 crore, focusing on reliability and support for industrial growth.

K Vijayanand, Andhra Pradesh's Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, has issued directives to fast-track the completion of 68 vital power transmission projects. Estimated at Rs 5,000 crore, this ambitious initiative is part of a strategy to bolster the state's electricity network in anticipation of future demands.

The Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTRANSCO) is spearheading this project with aims to enhance power reliability across sectors in the state, including agriculture and industry. Upon completion, the projects promise an increase in transformation capacity by 15,274 MVA, supported by 1,822 circuit kilometers of transmission lines.

Vijayanand highlighted the importance of these upgrades in facilitating industrialization and renewable energy expansion. Special attention is given to the infrastructural needs of significant solar PV units in Chevuru and Karedu, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a focal point for renewable energy and economic growth.
