MSCI's Semi-Annual Review of Hong Kong MPF Indexes

MSCI has recently conducted its semi-annual review of the MPFA investment restrictions applied to the MSCI Hong Kong MPF Indexes. This evaluation, integral to the May Index review, aimed to ensure compliance and reflect on current withholding tax rates.

As part of the update, Appendix II of the MSCI Hong Kong MPF Indexes methodology book has been revised to accurately represent the recent changes in tax withholding rates.

Despite these considerations and comprehensive assessment, MSCI confirmed that the existing investment restrictions aligned with the MPFA standards will remain unchanged.
