In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's advocacy for 'Economic Self-Reliance,' Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya is spearheading initiatives to foster fuel conservation and promote sustainable living across the state. According to the Chief Minister's Office, the Governor will reduce the official carcade's size by 70%, reflecting Assam's commitment to responsible governance.

The Governor, in a bid to reduce electricity consumption, has also implemented energy-saving measures at Assam's Lok Bhavan. Previously, a 10% reduction in standard fuel utilization had been mandated, highlighting a long-term strategy for resource preservation and administrative efficiency. Small steps, he noted, can significantly contribute to sustainable development and inspire a collective embrace of eco-conscious practices.

These efforts coincide with the Prime Minister's directive urging ministers to adopt more cost-effective, simple approaches in public duties. A 50% cut in the Prime Minister's own convoy underscores this policy. The initiative symbolizes a shift towards minimalism in government operations, intended to promote better resource management, echoing the tenets of accountability and efficiency. (ANI)
