Russia is setting high stakes for President Vladimir Putin's upcoming visit to China to bolster their 'privileged partnership,' according to the Kremlin's statement on Monday. Coinciding with President Putin's trip, U.S. President Donald Trump recently visited China as well.

Russia and China aim to reinforce their 'no limits' partnership, especially after Western sanctions were imposed on Russia due to its actions in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized the strategic and privileged nature of this partnership.

The Russian delegation will include deputy prime ministers, government ministers, and corporate leaders, with plans to address economic topics, such as the proposed Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline, which would supply gas from Russia's Arctic fields to China via Mongolia.
