Amid preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is calling for rigorous vigilance. State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy underscored the process's significance during a recent meeting at the party's central office, where parliamentary observers were briefed on supervising the upcoming revision.
The SIR, commencing on June 15 and spanning until September, will involve a comprehensive door-to-door enumeration scheduled from June 15 to July 14. This will be followed by the release of draft electoral rolls on July 21. The final voter list, after addressing objections and corrections, is set for publication on September 22.
Reddy emphasized the vital role of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in maintaining integrity throughout the process. He urged party committees to maintain diligence and coordination with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to prevent any oversight. Additionally, an early orientation and training session for BLAs are slated to enhance their preparedness. With the risk of voter exclusion high if requisite forms aren't submitted timely, he stressed the importance of proactive voter engagement.
