Andhra Pradesh Ramps Up for Kharif 2026 Amid El Niño Warnings

Andhra Pradesh Minister K Atchannaidu announced the state's readiness for the Kharif 2026 season with plans to safeguard farmers from El Niño challenges. During a review meeting, strategic measures such as seed and fertilizer management, anti-hoarding initiatives, and sustainable farming practices were emphasized to ensure smooth agricultural operations.

In preparation for the Kharif 2026 season, Andhra Pradesh's Agriculture Minister K Atchannaidu assured farmers on Monday that comprehensive strategies are in place to mitigate potential El Niño impacts.

Atchannaidu, who convened a review meeting with senior Agriculture Department officials, emphasized the importance of stringent measures in seed and fertilizer management across the state. Plans include the implementation of a special card system for transparent urea distribution and the promotion of balanced fertilization practices.

The minister highlighted the adoption of sustainable agriculture techniques, such as nano urea use and intercropping, and assured collaboration with central authorities for smooth supply chains.
