Himanta calls on Sitharaman, discusses roadmap for Assam’s growth

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday called on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the national capital, during which they discussed the roadmap for accelerating the state's economic growth.
Sarma thanked the Union Finance Minister for the support extended to Assam over the past five years.
''Called upon Hon'ble Union Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman Ji in New Delhi today. I thanked her for the constant support extended to Assam over the last five years and discussed the roadmap for Assam's growth and development journey in the coming years,'' Sarma said in a post on X.
The Chief Minister's Office, in a separate post on the social media platform, said the two leaders discussed the Assam government's roadmap for accelerating economic growth and transforming the state into a major growth engine of Northeast India.
The BJP-led NDA government recently returned to power in Assam for a third successive term following the Assembly elections, with Sarma helming the administration for the second consecutive time.
