The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced an extension for the NEET UG exam fee refund deadline, allowing candidates until June 22 to submit their bank details. This move comes after allegations of irregularities led to the exam's cancellation.
Originally set to expire on May 27, this new deadline gives candidates more time to process their refunds. As of now, 13 lakh candidates have updated their information since the service was made available on the NEET-UG 2026 portal.
The union ministry has responded to the scandal, sparked by a paper leak, by mandating stronger security measures for the June 21 re-examination, with plans for future NEET exams to be conducted in a computer-based format to avoid further irregularities.
