For years, women like Uma Ben embarked on arduous morning treks to fetch water, navigating hilly forest terrain with pots in hand. This routine has been radically altered thanks to government initiatives.

The 'Nal Se Jal' mission, spearheaded by the Gujarat government, coupled with the Centre's 'Har Ghar Jal' initiative under the Jal Jeevan Mission, now delivers clean drinking water directly to homes through tap connections. Uma Ben expresses her happiness as water now arrives in the comfort of her home, sparing her the daily trek.

This monumental change, facilitated by a complex network of pipelines and lift irrigation systems, has brought considerable relief to villagers. Water Supply Operator Akshay Valvi notes the ease it provides, freeing residents to focus on work.
