Meerut Police have launched a probe following allegations of meat being cooked within a temple complex during the Nauchandi Fair. The complaint was brought to light on May 28 when emergency services received a tip-off regarding the activities in the Nauchandi Police Station area.
Circle Officer Suchitra reported that officers quickly responded and were present at the scene to assess the situation. A formal complaint was lodged, prompting legal procedures. "Upon receiving the alert, our team promptly reached the location. We have initiated the process to register a case and will proceed with further legal steps," she stated.
Authorities have confirmed that a case is now on file, with an ongoing investigation aimed at uncovering the facts. The incident has drawn parallels to a February controversy in Karnataka, where meat was similarly detected on temple grounds, triggering public outcry and demands for accountability.
