In a recent development in the Delhi riots conspiracy case, Justice Amit Sharma of the Delhi High Court has stepped aside from hearing the bail plea of Tahir Hussain, who faces charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This decision shifts the hearing to another bench scheduled for June 10.

The bail plea resurfaced during a session involving the vacation bench composed of Justices Saurabh Banerjee and Amit Sharma. Following his recusal, Justice Sharma ensured that the case would be considered by a different bench. Tahir Hussain's legal representation argued that the trial court erred in dismissing his bail request, highlighting his six-year-long detention.

Previously, Delhi's Karkardooma Court denied regular bail to Hussain and others, citing valid legal grounds under UAPA. Despite the Supreme Court granting bail to some co-accused, the approval for Hussain remains pending as the accusation timeline progresses with upcoming arguments.
