Tragic Drowning of Indian Medical Students in Kazakhstan Sparks Repatriation Plea

The FAIMA Doctors Association has urgently appealed to India's Ministry of External Affairs for assistance in repatriating the bodies of two Indian medical students, Brijraj Meena and Nikhil Kuri, who drowned in Kazakhstan. Their families in Rajasthan and the student community are devastated by this tragic event.

The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) Doctors Association has made an urgent request to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for immediate assistance in returning the bodies of two Indian medical students who died in Kazakhstan. The students, Brijraj Meena and Nikhil Kuri, were second-year MBBS students at Karaganda Medical University, Kazakhstan.

The tragic incident unfolded on Saturday, when both students drowned while swimming. The news has left a profound impact on the Indian medical student community as well as their families and peers in Kazakhstan. In a letter to the MEA, FAIMA's Dr Mohammad Momin Khan has urged the government and the Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan to expedite all essential procedures for the swift repatriation of the students' remains.

The FAIMA Doctors Association stressed the importance of timely diplomatic support during such emergencies, acknowledging the grief suffered by the families who wish to perform the last rites according to their customs.
