In a concerning development, a suspected Ebola case has emerged in Rajasthan after a Ugandan woman visiting the state exhibited symptoms indicative of the deadly virus. The foreign national was flagged during routine screening at Jaipur's airport and has since been placed in isolation at RUHS Hospital.
The woman's samples have been dispatched to a specialized facility in Pune for laboratory confirmation. Health officials remain vigilant as they await test results, expected soon. This incident follows another case involving a Sudanese national isolated in Hyderabad for fever detected at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Amid reported outbreaks in Congo and Uganda, the WHO has declared Ebola a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. In response, India has delivered critical medical supplies to Uganda, highlighting its commitment to aiding Africa's battle against the virus.
