In a fervent display of environmental commitment, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday spearheaded the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' plantation drive at the World Forestry Arboretum, marking World Environment Day.
Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel, emphasizing the state’s environmental policies, underscored the dual importance of planting and nurturing trees under this campaign. “For two years, our initiative has not only planted trees but advocated for their growth and care, forming the cornerstone of our environmental progress,” said Patel.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings for World Environment Day, praising India’s efforts in environmental conservation, including increasing green cover and wildlife populations. India celebrates World Environment Day annually on June 5, a global event initiated by the United Nations in 1972.
