Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday praised India's substantial economic performance after the country's GDP growth reached an impressive 7.7 percent for the Financial Year 2025-26. Speaking at Daman, PM Modi affirmed that this economic milestone instills a sense of pride in every Indian, underscoring the nation’s swift advancements on the global platform.
PM Modi emphasized the country's resilience amid global economic uncertainties. Despite challenges, India's growth rate hit 7.8 percent in the last quarter ending March 31st. He assured that India would continue to progress rapidly with its 'Reform, Perform, and Transform' strategy, attributing successes to the collective efforts of its 140 crore citizens.
Highlighting Daman’s potential as a tourism hub, Modi noted a sharp rise in tourist numbers from 6 lakh in 2021 to nearly 50 lakh by 2025, driven by infrastructure development and cleaner landscapes. The PM inaugurated more projects worth ₹1,340 crore, aiming to enhance connectivity and healthcare, further boosting the region's growth prospects.
