The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has bolstered the security of its examination evaluation portal after it was targeted by an extensive cyberattack. The improvements follow a thorough review by IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras, who identified several vulnerabilities needing immediate attention.
Previously, CBSE utilized Coempt EduTeck's system for scanning answer sheets, but security concerns led to a swift pivot. “We have maintained the previous system's core functionalities while integrating numerous security enhancements to fortify data protection,” a panel member revealed.
Following these enhancements, all examination-related data has been securely transferred to CBSE servers. As of June 4, approximately 70,433 applications were processed through the grievance mechanism, highlighting the critical need for a fortified system amid ongoing cyber threats.
