A Delhi court has granted interim protection to actress and singer Sapna Chaudhry amid proceedings under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. The court's order, issued by Judicial Magistrate at Dwarka Courts, restricts her husband from approaching or contacting her at her home, workplace, or at her film premieres until the next hearing date.

Appearing for Chaudhry, Advocate Preeti Singh argued that the actress had been forced to leave her marital home due to her husband's conduct, currently residing at her parental home in New Delhi. The court acknowledged Chaudhry's affidavit on her marriage and requested additional documentation for the next hearing, finding adequate evidence to summon the respondent and notify the Protection Officer for a Domestic Incident Report.

The court also considered evidence presented by Chaudhry's counsel, including an affidavit and audio recordings, in granting temporary relief. With a film premiere imminent, the court deemed urgent protection necessary to prevent potential harm or reputational damage to Chaudhry by the respondent. The case is scheduled for further proceedings on July 25, 2026.
