On Friday, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, and several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders gathered to honor the memory of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and others who perished in the Air India AI-171 crash in 2025.
Earlier, Gujarat Health Minister Praful Pansheriya addressed the media, emphasizing the tragedy's lasting impact on public memory. He extended heartfelt tributes to the victims, affirming plans to establish two memorial temples at the crash site—to be known as Vidya Mandir (Temple of Knowledge) and Aarogya Mandir (Temple of Health).
Boeing also issued a statement of condolence, expressing ongoing support for the investigation. The devastating event occurred a year ago when Air India Flight 171 crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad, claiming 260 lives, including 229 passengers, 12 crew members, and 19 individuals on the ground.
