In a solemn ceremony at the Delhi Secretariat, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta paid tribute to the victims of the Hauz Rani fire and Saket building collapse that shook the city. The tragic incidents claimed several lives, prompting a heartfelt response from the government.
The Chief Minister praised the bravery of citizens, police, and officials who risked their lives for others. Honorees received commendation certificates and a monetary reward of Rs 21,000. MLA Satish Upadhyay and MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar were among the dignitaries present at the event acknowledging their commendable efforts.
A standout moment was the recognition of Riyazuddin Mansoori, whose quick thinking during the Hauz Rani fire saved many lives. The government reimbursed him for his contributions, underscoring a commitment to encourage acts of courage. Meanwhile, financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh will be extended to the families of deceased and injured victims to alleviate their suffering.
CM Gupta highlighted the broader societal impact of such tragedies and stressed the importance of prompt response and limited-resource management during crises. The Delhi Government stands with the affected families, pledging improvements in safety measures and disaster management to prevent future incidents.
