The Kenyan government has reportedly lifted ban from fishing near Somalia border, less than a month after the ban was imposed due to security concerns, according to local media reports.
Kenya had banned fishing activities off the Coast near the Somalia border on June 3 due to increasing incidents of trafficking in contraband goods, drugs and people.
According to a local news platform, The Nation, Coast Regional Coordinator John Elung'ata has said that Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and police will maintain heightened security.
