Mumbai building collapse: Death toll rises to 12; many still trapped

Death toll in India's financial capital of Mumbai building collapse has reportedly risen to 12, while 5 people have been rescued. Many people are still believed to be trapped under the rubble in south Mumbai's Dongri area on Tuesday.

According to preliminary information, the ground-plus-four-storey 'Kesarbai' building, located on Tandel Street in Dongri, crashed around 11.40 am, the official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) disaster management cell said.

Fire brigade, Mumbai Police and civic officials are carrying out the rescue operation. A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also reached the site to help in the rescue work.
