Google has been fined with an amount of $11,000 for non-compliance with Russian legislation, according to reports. The step has been taken reportedly as a response to Google's failure to comply with the Russian law of excluding links to certain sites from its search results. Russian state telecom watchdog Roskomnadzor has earlier threatened to fine the tech giant, adding that all formal procedures will be enacted by the end of July.

In June, the head of Roskomnadzor vowed to fine the tech juggernaut for violating Russian laws, adding that the formal procedures would be enacted by the end of July. In May, Roskomnadzor experts established that Google had violated the Russian law on information by selectively filtering the search results.

The tech giant was fined with $7,530 in December last year too for failing to comply with a legal requirement to remove certain entries from its search results.
