Boris Johnson has taken over as the new Prime Minister of the United Kindom and will now steer the Brexit process. But many in Scotland are not happy with the latest development. Scotland voted by 62 to 38 percent to remain in the EU and many believe that a majority of people from the country didn't want Boris Johnson either but UK-wide ballots make them a minority.
A Scotland independence petition backed by SNP, a major political party in the country, has gained momentum especially after Borish Johnson took over the Brexit process. The petition already has over 2,50,000 signatures, which are increasing every minute.

In the UK-wide Brexit referendum in 2016, Scotland and Northern Ireland had voted to remain in the EU but majorities in England and Wales propelled Britain towards the bloc's exit door. Since then, people from Scotland and Northern Ireland have been constantly pushing for their demand of staying with the EU.
