Police seize 5000 kg explosives in Kandahar city of Afghanistan

The Police have seized 5000 kilograms of explosives in Kandahar city of Afghanistan on Friday night, according to local media reports. The explosives were packed in a truck by the militants.

The Kandahar Police Chief Gen. Tadin Khan has reportedly hailed the security forces for thwarting militants' bid to detonate the truck bomb, adding that such attacks normally harm ordinary civilians.

The local media organization Tolo News posted the video footage of the seized explosives on its official Twitter account.

The Ministry of Interior has reportedly said in a statement that the militants wanted to attack the Kandahar Intelligence Directorate.
