Earthquake hits Southern California, no damages reported yet

An earthquake has hit parts of Southern California according to European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The earthquake measured 3.9 on the Richter scale but no damage has been reported yet. The epicenter of the quake was located 18 km east of Ridgecrest at a depth of one km.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 hit Southern California on July 24 while a magnitude 4.4 earthquake was reported on July 22.

An average of 234 earthquakes with magnitudes between 3.0 and 4.0 reportedly occur per year in California and Nevada.
