Chandrayaan 2 is now three steps closer to moon - ISRO

Chandrayaan 2 is now three steps closer to the moon after performing the third orbit raising maneuver today, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) posted on its official Twitter account. The third earthbound orbit-raising maneuver for Chandryaan-2 spacecraft has been performed successfully today (July 29, 2019) at 1512 hrs (IST) as planned, using the onboard propulsion system for a firing duration of 989 seconds. The orbit achieved is 276 x 71792 km. All spacecraft parameters are normal.

The fourth orbit-raising maneuver is scheduled on August 2, 2019, between 1400 – 1500 hrs (IST).

The second earthbound orbit-raising maneuver for Chandrayaan 2 spacecraft was performed on July 26, 2019.
