Maharashtra floods: Rainfall likely to increase during next two days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the rainfall over parts of Konkan region and Madhya Maharashtra is likely to increase during the next two days, according to news agency ANI. The agency also reported that after the enhancement of rainfall during the next two days, there will be a reduction.

The IMD said in a statement that the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal off north Odisha West Bengal coast has weakened into a depression and now lies over north-east Chhattisgarh and neighborhood.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued "extremely heavy rain" warning for Pune, Satara and Kolhapur districts of Western Maharashtra for Thursday. Earlier today, a boat overturned near Bhamnal in Palus block of Sangli district. There were 27-30 villagers on that boat. Nine people have been reported to be dead while three are are missing.
