Massive explosions ripped through the same site on Monday, killing one, injuring 13 and prompting authorities to evacuate thousands of people from nearby areas. Russian officials said 9,533 people have been evacuated and about 7,000 fled on their own after a fire at a military ammunition depot on Monday. The fire triggered powerful explosions and witnesses filmed plumes of black smoke and visible shock waves being sent into the skies near the city of Achinsk in eastern Siberia's Krasnoyarsk region.
Yesterday also an explosion hit a Navy unit in the Arkhangelsk Region of Russia and left two people dead and six others injured. The blast rocked a Russian Navy's firing range when a liquid-propulsion missile engine was undergoing trials in Russia's Arkhangelsk Region.
