Rina Shnerb murder: Terrorists apprehended by Israeli forces - reports

Israeli security forces have captured terrorists who planted explosives that killed Rina Shnerb and injured her family members, local media reports said on Monday. Israel Defense Force (IDF) has said that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off at a popular hiking spot Bubin spring where Rina Shnreb had gone with her family on August 23, 2019.

Rina could not survive the blast and her brother and father very seriously injured. IDF has blamed "Palestinian terrorists" for the blast.

The death of Rina Shnerb sparked anger and started an online moment as dozens of people demanded justice for her.

Gaza is ruled by the Islamist group Hamas, which has fought three wars with Israel over the past decade. Israel pulled its troops and settlers from the territory in 2005 but keeps the enclave under a blockade, citing security concerns. Tensions along the border are high with frequent fatalities.
