Kochi Naval base getting ready with quarantine facilities

The Naval base at Kochi under the Southern Naval Command is gearing up to provide quarantine facilities for Indian nationals being evacuated from coronavirus-hit countries in accordance with the Centre's directives, a defence spokesman said here on Tuesday. He said suitable quarantine arrangements to accommodate 200Indian nationals from various countries is being prepared on a war-footing.
All necessary facilities for the quarantined personnel are being set up at the site, inside the naval base, the spokesman said in a communication. The SNC is also actively coordinating with the Kerala state health officials and Ernakulam district administration to explore the feasibility of provisioning civil hotels/resorts for quarantining, he said.
Notwithstanding the same, all out efforts are in progress at the naval base to be ready for meeting the contingency when directed by the union government, the spokesman added..
