The State Government of Ebonyi recently approved N 380.1 million for repositioning of some sectors including health, agriculture sports, power, commerce, and industry.

The information for the same was revealed during the meeting of the State Executive Council meeting held in Abakaliki by the concerned commissioners.

Dr. Daniel Umezurike, the commissioner talking on health revealed about the approval done by the commissioner for equipping of the State School of Nursing and midwifery in Uburu,

The cabinet approved a sum of N 79.9 million to be used for equipping of the State School of Nursing and midwifery in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area to facilitate its accreditation

The sum will be used for providing updating library, a modern laboratory, demonstration room along with 32 seater Coaster bus for students.

He expressed his concern over nonavailability of even a single nursing school in Ebonyi.

He added: "Work was stopped while the school had not actually started."

He said: "Ebonyi State is the only State in South East that does not have a school of nursing."

"This Governor, upon the assumption of office, has sworn that there is no meaningful project that would be left abandoned in the State as long as it will impact positively on our lives."

"So we commenced the rehabilitation and completion of this project."

"So far construction work has reached final stage but for academic activities to start, some of the learning facilities must be provided so as to have quality products from that school and that school is about the best school of nursing in the whole federation."

"Today, the intending students will heave a sigh of relief because when these items are provided, the Nursing Council will be invited for an accreditation visit from Abuja and we are hopeful that it will pass because of this support."
